By now, you have undoubtedly heard the news of my mom’s home-going. What a blessing it has been to receive so many wonderful messages of encouragement and comfort, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart, on behalf of the entire Hinn family, for all that you have meant to us.
I can tell you, without a shadow of a doubt, Mom’s passing has only compelled me to be more consumed than ever with a passion to share what the Bible tells us about heaven, and the need for salvation to one day receive all that He has prepared for us there.
While I join all our family and partners around the world in mourning the loss of this remarkable woman, I want you to know that we have been celebrating her reunion in heaven with Constandi, my father, multitudes of loved ones, and especially the Lord Jesus whom she served so faithfully!
I look forward to joining them someday, for I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that heaven awaits those of us who have received Christ as Lord and Savior.
Let me share why…
Heaven—Believers’ Eternal Home
Will we still be married in heaven?
What will heaven look like?
God has such wonderful things in store for us!
I want to share the answers provided by God’s Word about the wonders of our eternal home. It is my prayer that the following will be a comfort to you. I’ve included many Scripture references for your continued study as well.
We are told:
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1).The Word of God tells us clearly that heaven is a spectacular place He has created for believers—a city, a country, a heavenly planet (Hebrews 11:8-16).
It is an actual planet, a real place. It isn’t a cloud where people merely sit around playing harps. There is much given to us in the Bible that tells us about the heavenly home awaiting us.
The wonder of that place is unimaginable. Human words fall so short, yet we are given a wonderful description in Revelation 21:9-21.
Heaven’s Sights and Sounds
“I saw the Lord sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left” (1 Kings 22:19).These inhabitants include seraphim, cherubim, living creatures, archangels, angels, and innumerable multitudes of saints (Revelation 7:9-12).
The Bible has much to say about what will surround us in our heavenly home:
- Horses of fire and chariots of fire (2 Kings 2:11-12)
- Horses of many colors and riders (Zechariah 1:8-11; 6:1-8), including vast herds of white horses on which the armies of heaven will ride when the Lord returns (Revelation 19:11-14)
- A temple (Revelation 7:15; 11:19)
- Mansions (John 14:1-3)
- Rivers (Revelation 22:1-3)
- Mountains (Revelation 21:10)
- Fountains (Revelation 7:17)
- Food (Exodus 16:4; Psalm 78:25; 105:40)
- Trees (Revelation 22:1-3), including palm trees (Revelation 7:9) and olive trees (Zechariah 4; Revelation 11:4)
- The tree of life (Revelation 2:7)
- A sea of glass (Revelation 4:6; 15:2)
- Musical instruments (Revelation 5:8; 14:1-2)
- Clothes (Revelation 6:9-11)
- Great and high walls with 12 foundations (Revelation 21:12, 14, 17)
- Twelve gates of pearl (Revelation 21:21)
Jesus Himself spoke of preparing a place for believers and will come back to get us:
“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also” (John 14:2-3).Isn’t that the kind of place you want to live in? Have you made Jesus your personal Savior so you can live with Him for eternity? Have your loved ones?
Your eternal home is waiting!
